Serological tests detect the presence of antibodies directed against SARS-CoV-2. Positivity to these tests indicates that the person has come into contact with the virus. At our clinic one can avail of the following types of Serological Tests:

1. New generation quantitative serological test for the detection of virus neutralizing antibodies (IgG anti-spike protein). The SARS-CoV-2 IgG II Quant test is the latest generation diagnostic tool offered by Bianalisi to support the community in the fight against COVID-19. The new quantitative serological test is a chemiluminescence immunoassay (CMIA) for the quantitative determination of IgG antibodies directed against the S1RBD antigen of the SARS-CoV-2 virus Spike protein in human serum and plasma. It is used to evaluate the immune status of individuals who have contracted the infection or following vaccination. Cost 32 €
2. Qualitative serological test: with the detection of the presence of IgG class antibodies directed towards the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid, indicative of a previous infection and of the virus neutralizing antibodies (IgG anti-spike protein). Cost € 58

The Molecular Swab is the main and most reliable test to establish the presence of the virus and to recognize all the variants known to date. The test is based on the search for fragments of the genetic material of which the virus is composed, possibly present in the sample of nasopharyngeal material taken from the patient by means of a swab. The presence of these fragments indicates contact with the virus and therefore positivity. Molecular Swab reports are issued within 24/36 working hours *. Cost € 84.
